Product Review: HandJet® EBS 250 Portable Printer

I receive hundreds of free products every day day, and it gets a little old. Every once in a while, though, a legal product comes across my desk that promises to revolutionize the way we practice law. The HandJet EBS 250 Portable Printer is one of those. Whether you need an alternative to the traditional Bates stamp or a better way to present textual information in court, the EBS 250 will get you there, and then some. Take a gander at what this baby does:

I started using the HandJet as soon as I got it. It’s lightweight (a tad over two pounds), battery-powered (up to 50 hours on a charge) and writes on nearly anything, including mahogany and naugahyde.

I’m now pleased to say the HandJet has replaced Powerpoint for my presentations. I just add my content to the Handjet through a wireless connection to my PC, pull the trigger, and voila. No need for expensive LCD projectors or other multimedia equipment. I just write it all over the walls, leaving behind an awesome textual message that resonates for days. I’ve also begun using it to leave important messages for my staff on their office walls, like “Greg, your mom called. You forgot your lunch.” It takes up to 1500 characters and ten different text blocks. Honestly, it’s like Twitter for those who prefer letterpress.

The graying of clients and attorneys has created significant pressure to produce large print legal documents. With the EBS 250, the task of enlarging that print is laughingly simple.
